The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has condemned the choice of the federal government to dissolve the governing councils of all federal universities in the country.
In June, the National Universities Commission (NUC) dissolved the governing councils of all federal universities following President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s directive.

Reacting to the development, Chris Yilgwan, University of Jos (UNIJOS) ASUU chairman, described the move as “a primary setback” for the boom and development of college training in Nigeria, The Cable reported.
Yilgwan argued that such a directive can cripple the country’s college machine if now not addressed, Premium Times file added.
ASUU reacts to newly signed pupil mortgage act by way of President Tinubu
Earlier, Legit.ng suggested that the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) reacted to the newly signed Student Loan Act by using President Tinubu, stating that many college students will withdraw from school.
Speaking with journalists on Wednesday, June 14, ASUU President, Prof Emmanuel Osodeke, said the Student Loan Act has the workable of sending many students out of school.
UNILAG publicizes dates for 2023/24 Post-UTME screening exercise
The management of the University of Lagos (UNILAG) has introduced dates for its 2023/2024 Post-UTME screening exercise.
According to a tweet shared on Monday, July 3, on its Twitter deal with @UnilagNigeria, the Post-UTME screening workout will keep for three weeks.
The screening will start on Monday, July 10 and run till Friday, July 28, 2023.
The Post-UTME candidates who must have made the college their first preference in the 2023/2024 UTME and scored 200 and above had been entreated to go to the school’s website for more information.
