Olawale Olofooro, better known as Brymo, says he did not mean to insult Igbo people. He had said Igbo president would only be a “pipe dream” due to Biafra agitation.
Brymo backs Bola Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress for president. Musician had said Igbo president would remain a pipe dream until prominent Igbolandians continue to discuss Biafra.
He said he was trying to make a point about author, Chimamanda Adichie’s refusal of national honours. His first apology came after thousands of Nigerians signed a petition to stop Wizkid from winning an award at the All Africa Music Awards.
Apologising, he said, “I did not insult the tribe, I am sorry to anyone who it sounded as such to. I was trying to weigh into a very important matter.”
