“Businessman Accuses Davido of Bullying and Breaching Contract”
Abu Salami, a prominent Nigerian photographer and businessman, has openly criticized Afrobeat singer Davido for allegedly failing to honor a multi-million Naira contract and resorting to thuggery to settle the matter.
According to the businessman, he paid Davido a substantial sum of 218 million Naira for a football project aimed at supporting children, but the singer didn’t fulfill his commitment. To compound the issue, Davido has refused to refund the money and has allegedly sent thugs to intimidate Abu Salami.
In a distressing video shared by the businessman, he claimed that these thugs were sent by the singer. He expressed his disappointment in the situation, disclosing that he had invested 218 million Naira out of a 326 million Naira project. He had scheduled meetings with Davido and conducted a nationwide tour across 20 states with an 11-person production team to discover young talented footballers, only for the singer to cancel the project.
Abu Salami proved his accusations with chat screenshots between him and Davido and asserted that this sudden withdrawal had cost him 42 million Naira.
Online reactions to the incident suggest that some people view Davido as someone who disregards contracts and feels he is above the law. The allegations also sparked discussions about his past contract disputes.
This incident marks the second time this year that Davido has been publicly accused of not fulfilling a contract. Last month, the former president of the Nigerian Football Federation, Amaju Pinnick, criticized Davido for failing to appear at an event despite being paid a significant amount and booking a private jet for his crew. Davido was compared unfavorably to his rival, Burna Boy, in this context.
