A controversy has arisen as some VVIP supporters of Whitemoney, the Lockdown winner, allege that the N37 million gift presented to him was counterfeit.
It was initially reported that on Whitemoney’s 31st birthday, numerous VVIP fans and supporters celebrated him in a unique manner, gifting him cash and other presents.
The Whitemoney geng, as his fans are known, collectively presented him with a total cash prize of N40 million. A fan, @___Taurean___, shared a post showing a 37 million Naira cheque and a 3 million Naira all-expense paid trip to Dubai cheque contributed by WMG Worldwide, awarded to the Season 6 winner.
However, after the presentation of these gifts, some fans involved in the donation have come forward to claim that the N37 million cheque handed to Whitemoney was not genuine.
According to one fan, they were only able to collect N900K and collaborated with a vendor to create a fake impression of a larger sum to elevate the initial contribution.
The controversy surrounding the genuineness of the N37 million gift has stirred discussions and debates among Whitemoney’s fans and followers.
