Funke Akindele accepts defeat; deletes all campaign posts from her IG page

Funke Akindele, a Nollywood actress and politician, has remained silent in the aftermath of her loss in the Lagos state governorship election on Saturday, February 18.

Funke, the running mate of People’s Democratic Party (PDP) gubernatorial candidate Abdul-Azeez Olajide Adediran, alias Jandor, has removed all political posts from her social media page.

This comes just hours after the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) declared incumbent governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu the election winner with 762,134 votes.

He defeated Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour of the Labour Party, who received 312,329 votes, and Jandor of the PDP, who received 62,449 votes.

Funke Akindele appears to have accepted defeat, as she deleted all political posts from her Instagram page just six hours after the results were announced.

A quick look at her Instagram account reveals that she has deleted all of her campaign posts, leaving only personal photos and movie promotion posts.
