Some Nigerian celebrities have spoken out in response to the arrest of three young men in connection with a homosexual wedding in Delta State.
According to Citi News, the Delta police command in Asaba seized over 100 people on Tuesday for allegedly being part in a gay wedding ceremony that took place within the state.
Following that, security personnel paraded the suspects, and media interviewed several of them.
Celebrities such as Georgina Onuoha, Victoria Inyama, Uche Maduagwu, Chinedu Ikedie nicknamed Aki, and Mr. Funny flocked to social media to express their reactions to the news.
According to Georgina Onuoha,
“Leave these people alone. They did not kill, steal or harm anyone.
“They are not the cause of Nigeria’s demise and predicaments. Let them live their lives.
“You that are busy committing fraud, sleeping around with married men and women, lying etc You are no better than these folks living their lives. Until many of you work in the medical field and understand the mechanisms behind sexual orientation, you will continue to live by the preachings of hate many con artist who call themselves pastors have poured into you as preachings.”
Uche Maduagwu stated, ” This is so unfair.”
Chinedu Ikedieze stated, “Na wa oh, wetin dis economy dey cause”
Victoria Inyama stated, “Parade the poor ones whilst idolising the rich ones. Make it make sense.”
Mr. Funny stated, “the devil is a liar.”
