Hilda Effiong Bassey, also known as Hilda Baci, a renowned chef and the record holder for the longest cooking marathon by an individual, has revealed that she auditioned for the Big Brother Naija reality programme five times but failed each time. This was revealed by the culinary expert during a recent appearance on the Nigerian radio programme Cool FM’s show “The Big Friday Show.”
Baci revealed to Tacha, the event’s host, that she intended to enter the BBNaija show and then continue with her cook-a-thon. She did not, however, get a slot on the show.
She stated,
“I actually tried to get on Big Brother [Naija] for a while. I think I auditioned about four or five times.
‘The plan for the cook-a-thon was still in the pipeline, so my goal was to go to Big Brother and then come out and do the cook-a-thon.”
Baci was recently recognised by Guinness World Records (GWR) as the record holder for the longest individual cooking marathon. She accomplished the task after 93 hours and 11 minutes of cooking.
