‘I Can’t Imagine Losing My Mama’ – Burna Boy Reacts to Wizkid’s Mother Loss

Burna Boy, a Grammy award-winning singer, has expressed sympathy to his colleague, Ayodeji Ibrahim Balogun, popularly known as Wizkid, following the death of his mother.

Citi News previously reported that a close colleague of Wizkid confirmed the singer’s mum died following a brief illness.
Mrs. Balogun, who was a pillar of support for her son’s thriving career and was frequently seen cheering him on from the sidelines at concerts, died in the early hours of today, Friday, August 18, 2023.

Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager, confirmed the sad news to The Punch.
“Yes, she died this morning, around 1.30 a.m.,” he replied.

Burna Boy took a moment during his Detroit show to pay tribute to the deceased.
The musician, who referred to Wizkid as his brother, added that he understood the singer’s anguish because he cannot comprehend losing his own mother.

“Before I go on, one of my brothers lost his mother, Wizkid. I want to say Rest In Peace to his mother. I can’t imagine how it would be to lose my own mama.”
