Afrobeat superstar, Wizkid, also known as Ayodeji Balogun, is going through an extremely tough period as he copes with the loss of his beloved mother.
At his mother’s funeral, Wizkid delivered an emotional speech that moved many to tears. He openly expressed the profound pain he’s experiencing and how it deeply hurts. He described it as the most intense pain he’s ever felt in his life.
Wizkid acknowledged feeling lost but also offered a prayer for comfort and solace for all those affected by this loss. He said, “The pain is profound. It hurts deeply. The deepest pain I’ve ever felt in my life. I’m lost but I pray God will comfort every one of us.”
He went on to portray how he feels without his mother, expressing his profound love for her. “I’m lost without you Mom, I love you so much, I love you.”

Wizkid’s mother, Mrs. Jane Dolapo Balogun, passed away at approximately 1.30 a.m. on Friday, August 18th. The sad news was confirmed by Sunday Aare, Wizkid’s longtime manager.
The family released her funeral arrangements, commencing with a wake-keep night, followed by a candlelight procession, during which Wizkid appeared visibly downcast. Since her passing, the music star has chosen a period of reflection away from the limelight and social media.
