Winner of Big Brother’s seventh season Phyna, also known as Josephine Otabor, has explained why she had two pregnancies aborted.
But she said that she can now afford to care for ten kids.
On December 6, 2022, the reality star acknowledged having terminated two pregnancies in a Twitter exchange.
Since then, many people have questioned what could have influenced her choice.
Phyna clarified her choice in an exclusive interview with Punch, assuaging many people’s questions.
If there are 100 women in Nigeria now, 98 of them have had abortions, according to her.
So please don’t judge me. I was so young and had been in a relationship for 12 years. I had my first abortion when I was 19 because I was too young to go home and tell my parents I was pregnant.
Additionally, because the two pregnancies were so early—by two to three weeks—I was able to use pills. The second occurred when I was 24 and had already completed my service. Although I was prepared to stay, the connection was becoming toxic. He regularly hit me and verbally abused me. I told myself I couldn’t do this any longer, so I removed it, and that was that.
“I have enough money right now to support 10 kids, the way things stand. In reality, I wouldn’t have had an abortion on my first pregnancy if my parents had been wealthy at the time. We used to just eat once a day, usually in the afternoon, but I knew I came from a very poor household so we would carry it over to the next day. Keeping the child at that time was not an option for me.”
Actress, model, hype woman, entertainer, and reality TV sensation Phyna hails from Nigeria. The seventh season of Big Brother Naija belongs to her.
