
“I owe you my freedom and my sanity” Seun Kuti Breaks Silence After Release
Seun Kuti, an Afrobeats singer, has finally broken his silence after being released from police prison for nearly a week.
According to reports, Seun Kuti was released on bail from the State Criminal Investigation Department in Panti, Lagos, on Tuesday night.
Adeyinka Olumide-Fusika, SAN, his counsel, confirmed this to Punch over the phone.
“Yes, Ṣeun Kuti was released minutes ago,” he said.
Following his release, the musician took to Instagram to express his gratitude to his wife, family, and lawyers.
He remarked that he owes them his freedom and sanity.

“I want to say a profound thanks to everyone who showed me all this love. All my friends that showed up! Thanks most especially to my beautiful wife”.
Seun Kuti expressed gratitude to his legal team in another post.
“Last but not least. The Legal team. Uncle Femi Falana (SAN), Uncle Olumide Fisika (SAN), Uncle Kayode Adegoke (SAN), and Barrister Ogunlana. Ade Ademiluyi. And everyone on the team. I owe u my freedom and my Sanity. Let’s go!!”.
