Spyro Speaks On How His Music Career Started With Bank Loans And The Challenges

Sensational singer Oludipe Oluvasanmi David, better known as Spyro, revealed that he took out a bank loan to finance a collaboration with Davido and Mallorkun.

Recall that the up-and-coming singer used the services of DMW boss and his signee Mallorcuna for his song “Funke,” which was not a commercial success. He is said to have struggled for three years to pay off his loan after being pushed out of the spotlight after the song’s initial momentum cooled.

The owner “Who’s Your Guy” spoke about this in a recent interview with Lagos’ Cool FM. Spyro said, “When I dropped ‘Funke,’ the song fell apart. I had David [Davido] and I had Majorcun on the song. And when I quit Funke and my career was going downhill, I was like, “Oh! Can I get back up?” I jumped and there was no structure, so I just fell. There was nothing there.

I took out a bank loan to finance this particular record while I was still signed to Upfront & Personal. During this time After this, you now have to pay off your loan. It was really difficult because I paid for three years,” he confessed.
