On Thursday, the Lagos State Police Command provided an update on the guy who plunged into the lagoon near the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge in Lagos on Tuesday.
The deceased’s identify was established by the police as Buka Abana.
This comes after rescue workers successfully recovered Abana’s body on Thursday after days of searching.
In an interview with Punch, the state command’s spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin, stated that the 30-year-old had been using hard narcotics.
He further revealed that he had left his Lekki Phase I home around two days before to the occurrence.
It was stated that his family members, who had established a search team for him, later received word that he had been spotted near the bridge and chose to pursue him.
“His name is Buka Abana,” Hundeyin remarked. He was 30 years old. He had been using strong drugs in Colorado.
“He left home for two days and in the process of searching for him, he sighted the family members and jumped into the lagoon as soon as he saw them.”
“The man lived in Lekki Phase I,” a source told the site on condition of anonymity. He was taking Colorado. He had been missing for two days, and his family was looking for him.
“They got information that he was seen around the Lekki-Ikoyi Link Bridge and they rushed there to take him home.
“Unfortunately when he sighted them, he quickly jumped into the lagoon.”
